This will be the 4th annual Crawfish Cook-off.                 We are Having it at the EL Maton National Hall.  Come out on April 27th to support you friends and local schools.  The public is welcome to come out and enjoy the atmosphere.   Buy a ticket to join in the fun.  Its going to be a great day!!!

   Our goal is to bring people from around the county and farther, to engage in community togetherness in order to help local students.  Money will be raised for scholarships given to students that attend the 4 schools in Matagorda County.  Anyone can pay to enter the cook-off.  Which is a great opportunity to win some money.  The Six One 6 Restaurant (Shawn Kacer) is always generous enough to donate the prize money.  This years first place team will take home $1,500.  Plus the more people we can have attend, the more money that will be raised for the students.  L-2 Crawfish donates a good portion of the Crawfish for the event every year.  They will be there cooking and showing their support for the community.

We welcome everyone to attend.   There will be games, music, and other entertainment for the entire family.  ( young and old)  Anyone wanting to set up a vendor booth, can contact me for details.  (Eric Kacer 512.848.8790).

--ABOUT US--

In early 2020 the idea of the EL Maton Country Club started to become a thought.  The concept was to bring the community together.  With community unity we hoped of one day allowing non agricultural families to learn about farm life.  As we started to put together functions in EL Maton to grow the unity, we still looked for a way to give back to the community.  So through a small group of friends and family, the EL Maton Country Club formed its "Founders Club".  Through donations from the Founding Fathers, we were able to secure funds necessary to give scholarships for the local schools of Matagorda County. (BayCity, Van Vleck, Palacios and Tidehaven).  The money raised in 2021 provided 17 scholarships to area seniors and in 2022 it provided 26 scholarships.  2023 provided 25 Scholarships.
